Inter-Mission India runs a Day School following TN State Board Syllabus in Palavakkam, Chennai. The students come from the surrounding slums, where they live in extreme poverty and highly vulnerable conditions. The parents are daily wage labourers; going to work often means leaving their little children unattended and at high risk.

By sending their children to the Day School, the parents are able to work during the day knowing their children are in good hands. The risks the children face are minimised, and their overall quality of life has greatly improved.

Students receive education from nursery and primary classes up to Standard 5, paying a very nominal fees. There is a high emphasis on basic cleanliness and hygiene, good conduct, and moral values.

Many of the students of this school have excelled, and completed higher studies. Their integrity and improved standard of living is proof of the difference this Day School has made in their lives.
